CRITICAL ILLNESS INSURANCE
Provided through Prudential, this coverage pays a lump-sum benefit when you are diagnosed with a covered illness, and it can be used more than once. If you receive a payout for one condition, you remain eligible for the remaining covered conditions. Covered conditions include heart attack, stroke, cancer, major organ failure, coma and paralysis.
Covered Conditions
A lump-sum benefit is paid on diagnosis of any of these conditions. Including but not limited to:
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Cancer
- Major organ failure
- Coma
- Paralysis
Who Is Eligible
Eligibility
- Employees: $10,000 to $30,000, no medical questions
- Available when you apply during open enrollment
- Spouse coverage at 50% of your benefit amount
- Children to age 26 automatically covered at 50%
- Preexisting conditions: 12-month limitation applies
How It Works
If you receive a payout for one condition, you remain eligible for the remaining covered conditions.
Benefits may not be paid for a claim in the first 12 months caused by a preexisting condition. This limitation does not apply after 12 months.
